Having defined the main drivers for the project from a business perspective, the next stage is to define the systems and interfaces required to support the business information strategy.

Under the direction of the Ingenuus Project Manager, the scope of the system(s) is refined and a formal specification produced describing how the systems will work; their inputs, outputs and information cycles.

At this stage, the emphasis is on 'what' (design) rather than 'how' (hardware / software).

We are careful to avoid being seduced by the latest applications, methodologies and high-tech 'gizmos'.

Available and forthcoming technologies are reviewed as appropriate during the systems analysis phase, but whilst these technologies may influence the final shape of the systems, they must not be allowed to dictate the direction of the project.

The analysis and design stage will also identify the acceptance criteria, resource requirements and test data/scripts for proving out the final system.
